Empowerment and Wellbeing
among alabama youth

NOTE: We are currently not recruiting for this study but hope to resume this work in 2023.

In this 12-week program, Central High School students will learn about anthropology, dance, and vocal performance by doing.
Four weeks of creatively exploring their thoughts and feelings about their lives and life in our community will be followed by eight weeks of dance and vocal performance training to build their skills in expressing those thoughts and feelings through music and movement. At the end of this program, the 20 students who take part will put on a program of their own creation for our community.

If you think your child would enjoy this program, please encourage them to pick up an information packet in the front office (or see the parent letter, parent permission form, and participant consent/assent form below) so you can learn more about the program. Please sign the permission form and have your child sign the consent/assent form if they would like to participate. Packets can be turned into the box in the Central High School front office. The program begins Monday, February 15, 2021.
