I began research among Aka forest foragers and Ngandu horticulturalists in the Central African Republic in 2008. A civil war broke out late in 2012 that has continued to date. Things are calming (see recent news here) and I hope to return in the next few years.
In 2014, I began conducting research among Sidama agropastoralists in Southwestern Ethiopia. I currently work in a peri-urban village located near Hawassa in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region.
